The terrain is generally flat and averages 290 meters above sea level. It is punctuated with a few rolling hills of about 60 meters high. The water system is well developed with many lakes and rivers, and the drainage is dominated by the Kinojévis River, which consists of several streams and swampy areas. The vegetation is comprised of approximately 30% deciduous and 70% coniferous.
The Ranger property is located at the boundary of the north and south volcanic zones of the Archean sub-province of Abitibi and the Superior Province. This Archean sub-province consists of ultramafic, mafic and felsic volcanics, clastic sediments and tonalitic and granitic, pre to post-tectonic intrusions (Lamothe and Harris 2006). The different volcano-sedimentary units are separated by major deformation zones, such as the Destor-Porcupine, Parfouru and Manneville faults (Legault and al. 2005). The volcano-sedimentary assemblages are usually limited by narrow bands of clastic sediments that coincide with major structures. These zones constitute a braided system with orientations ranging generally from west/northwest to east/southeast and east-west.
